Material and Characteristics
Cloth-based adhesive tape is made of fabric coated with special adhesive. This type of tape has many advantages such as waterproofing, heat resistance, and corrosion resistance, as well as strong peel strength and tensile strength. Therefore, cloth-based adhesive tape can be widely used in various environments, such as automotive, construction, papermaking, electronics, and other industries. Common cloth-based adhesive tapes include white, black, silver, and double-sided cloth-based adhesive tape.
Applications
- Sealing of cardboard boxes: In the fields of logistics and warehousing, cloth-based adhesive tape is commonly used to seal cardboard boxes to protect the contents from damage. Its strong adhesion ensures that the cardboard boxes do not come apart during transportation, enhancing the safety of the goods.
- Carpet splicing: In the fields of decoration and construction, cloth-based adhesive tape is often used for splicing carpets, improving work efficiency and ensuring the aesthetics of the carpet. Its special texture can prevent damage to carpet fibers while ensuring the flatness of the carpet.
- Industrial applications: Used for damping slurry shielding, sandblasting shielding, shielding applications for multiple medium-temperature baking of window frames, and body plug applications in the transportation industry.
- Heavy-duty bundling: In the fields of logistics and transportation, cloth-based adhesive tape can be used for bundling heavy items to ensure stability during transportation. Its high strength and endurance can withstand large pulling forces, preventing items from shifting or being damaged during transportation.
- Waterproof packaging: In the food and pharmaceutical industries, cloth-based adhesive tape can be used for waterproof packaging to ensure the quality and safety of products. Its excellent waterproof performance can prevent water penetration, ensuring that products remain dry and uncontaminated.
- Automotive industry: In the automotive industry, cloth-based adhesive tape can be used for maintenance and repair of vehicles, such as waterproofing, sound insulation, and thermal insulation. Its temperature resistance and corrosion resistance enable it to maintain stable performance in various environments.
- Papermaking industry: In the papermaking industry, cloth-based adhesive tape can be used for bonding and packaging paper, improving production efficiency. Its strong adhesion ensures that paper does not come apart during packaging, increasing production efficiency.
- Electrical and mechanical industry: In the electrical and mechanical industry, cloth-based adhesive tape can be used for the production and repair of electronic products, such as insulation and protection. Its excellent insulation performance can protect electronic products from electromagnetic interference and prevent short circuits and other issues.
- Household appliances: In appliance repair, cloth-based adhesive tape also plays an important role. For example, it can be used to temporarily seal temporary leaks, fix components, etc., to prevent mechanical equipment from becoming dangerous due to loosening.
- Daily use: Used for sealing doors and windows against drafts, windproofing, moisture-proofing, and insect-proofing, with high adhesion and high tackiness, and residue-free removal.
Purchasing
How should cloth-based adhesive tape be selected and distinguished?
- Touch the adhesive side of the tape with your hand and then move your hand across the tape surface. If you feel significant resistance and the adhesive force is strong, it indicates good initial adhesion. Normally, if the tape has poor adhesion, it won’t stick. Such tape is not what we want to buy.
- Check the side without adhesive to see if the surface lines are clear, orderly, and densely arranged, and if the tape thickness is relatively thick. If so, it indicates that the tape has a high tensile strength and can withstand the pulling force of heavy items. If there are few lines, the tape may not be able to bear heavy loads.
- Try tearing the tape by hand. If the tape tears easily, it indicates that the base material of the tape is good, making it easy to use with strong operability. Conversely, if the base material is not good and the tape is not easy to tear, it may be difficult to use.
Usage and Storage
Usage: When using cloth-based adhesive tape, clean the surface first to avoid dust or impurities affecting the adhesive effect. Also, pay attention to controlling the force and usage method to avoid damage caused by excessive stretching or sticking.
Storage: Cloth-based adhesive tape should be stored in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight or high-temperature environments. Also, keep it away from heat sources to avoid the risk of fire.
